Advice and a bit of a rant...

What's important to note here is that there is no shortcuts, networking is all about mastering the basics until it becomes second nature, complex problems are usually an amalgamation of these basic core concepts.

The best advice I could give to someone attempting this exam is to look at the blueprint/guideline for the exam, its really as simple as taking note of the objectives and setting goals for yourself.

Developing a routine is an important one because it gets you brain into the mindset of study mode, you can't be swiping on social media, watching motivational videos or playing videogames while these videos play in the background.

But most of all you need to expose yourself to all the objectives repeatedly, our brains aren't designed to sit and memorize random text of information, its only by constant exposure and making use of different methods of learning that our brains deem something as important.

Develop a routine and sense of urgency:

  • Get some morning sun or turn the light on in your room if its too early. (Very important)
  • Study sessions: 2 hours per day minimium (I would break these up into 20 - 30 minute blocks to avoid fatigue and be more convenient.
  • Booking the exam anchors you to a specific date and should induce a sense of urgency for 99% of people unless you just enjoy wasting money.
  • Practice Exams are gold, you know you're learning when you can discern between an incorrectly provided answer vs your own knowledge even if its not completely accurate, the point is you know the answer they gave is not correct.

Resources I made use of included:

  1. Professor Messer practice exams and course notes on his website. https://www.professormesser.com/
  • Professor Messer's videos are freely available on YouTube, he also does livestreams where you can participate with people in the same position as you.

Ending off..

Everybody has their own way of doing things, the above is just the method I used.
What's important is that you dedicate time and energy to achieving these goals but most of all, don't give up.
